“TO ALL THE GIRLS I LOVED BEFORE”

Well, here we go!!! I do not really know where to start; so, let’s begin with the woman who gave me birth, my “MOM”. As I have noted before, she was a strong-willed Christian woman who kept me on the straight and narrow. Not that I did not stray; but, she and her “Christian values” gave me a road map to return to the light from some of my darkest hours. It is very hard to put into words all that she taught me through her words and actions. I still follow many of the examples of life that I observed as a growing child. She taught me right from wrong, loyalty, honor, morals/ethics, and most importantly she taught and instilled in me those “Christian values”. She was a simple but really great woman; and when she passed, I ask for a moment alone with her and “thanked her for the gravel in my gut”. As I grew into manhood, there have been other women who have helped shape me into what I am today (along with men), but this all about the women. I remember at my Dad’s funeral that Mom was in a tizzy. So, I asked her what the problem was and she said, “there are five or six of your ex-girlfriends here and they are all coming to the house after the funeral. What are we going to do”? I told her not to worry, ” I’ll get them all in a tight little circle, in a group hug, and they will be like a little covey of quail”. She did not go for it, but again this is all about the women. Some where kind and gentle while others, “not so much” and some broke my heart, or so I thought at the time. None will be named except a couple. But, if they have the chance to read this, most will recognize themselves.

Have you ever heard of the “Dear John” letter. It was received by many a serviceman during his tour of duty in the military. Well, mine was a “Dear John” phone call as I was in “basic training”. With the last change I could gather, I made the call from the pay phone on the quadrangle. It was great to hear a voice from home–but the message was “loud and clear”. “Dear Jerry”, take a hike. And I did take a hike the very next morning. A “forced march” of ten miles all the while being harassed by Sargent Crabile. It was a horrible lesson, but it sank home and prepared me for relationships of my future and how to make them stronger, or at best, how to choose more carefully.

I had one girl friend who competed in the “Miss America” beauty contest (or one of those) and OH,OH MY, what a beauty she was. A true “blue-eyed, blond beauty”. I met her while running a ferris wheel with a friend of mine in a small band of carnies. She only had one flaw. She did not like to hunt/fish, or at least she did not want me to hunt/fish. There was always a problem when I went. So, I decided, or she taught me, to choose someone with similar likes. As I look back, both of these girls competed in beauty contest. One on a local level and one on a national level. It just proves that old saying from my “Mom” that “beauty is only skin deep”. You see my “Mom” had “COMMON SENSE” also. Mom just hated when I told her she was right “beauty was shin deep but some of them were so ugly it had to go plumb to the bone”. That is “COMMON SENSE” also.

Another was a dark-haired, brown-eyed, simply gorgeous “Latina”. She never competed in a beauty contest, but she won a beauty contest everyday in the contest of life. She was undoubtedly the most beautiful woman I have ever seen until my “little wife” came along. This woman was strikingly beautiful. And once, when I walked her into an event, the singer, a friend of mine, stopped singing. He later caught me at the bar and asked “where did you find that babe?”. But, alas, she taught me a lesson about loyalty.

I took the time to tell you about those women, or those stories, so I could tell you this story. It is the story of my wife. We meet at work just after she graduated from high school. We became friends from the start and would frequent the local pub, ” Alaskan Palace” most days after work. We were “buds” as her sister would say. The “Alaskan Place” was not a fancy joint by no means; but, she lent it a kind of “elegance”. She was a young “hot mama” and me liked. She was always a woman of few words and our relationship almost ended when I moved to New Mexico for work because she hardly had anything to say when I would call but she always told me “she loved me” before we hung up and I told her the same. After we were married, I had to travel to Denver on a business trip; and when I returned I brought her a fur coat. It was ok, I guess, but made no great impression. So, the following year after a business trip I brought her a very “elegant silver fox” fur because I was going to make an impression. She met me at the airport gate, I presented my prize and wanted her to try it on but she said, “I’ll try it on when we get home”. So much for the big impression. She has proven to be the most beautiful woman I have ever met. She is a complete package and has taught me many “life lessons” and she is “one hell of a fine cook”. Hopefully, we will get many more years than our current 38 years together. We have spent our lives together building a comfortable existence that few will ever know. So it’s “hats off” to the woman who has shaped me the most, good or bad, it is her fault.

On March 9, 1986, she presented me with a wonderful gift, a baby daughter, and I was impressed. That daughter is another of the women that helped shape me into what I am today. She is a smart, articulate woman of great character with good morals /ethics. I could not have asked for a greater gift; and, she has taught me and reinforced all of life’s lessons. She has rewarded me for her raising with a beautiful “granddaughter” that I am sure will help shape me in the future. Just can’t wait for her to walk so she can follow “old Goby” around. I’m sure she will teach this “old dog” just a few “new tricks.”

I have told these stories for no other reason than to show the “COMMON SENSE” in the influence that others have on us as we mature. Whether good or bad, every experience helps you grow. The old “COMMON SENSE” saying is “every experience that doesn’t kill you, only makes you stronger”. It really is true and it only makes “COMMON SENSE” to value all the relationships that God has presented and learn from each and everyone of them.

SO, OBAMA WANTS TO HAVE A DISCUSSION ON RACE, WELL HERE IT GOES

I am always open to any and all honest discussions about the racial divide in this country. As chance would have it, the President just called for us to have this discussion once again; but, we need not have the same old discussion yet again. If you have been alive and living in America, you know this discussion is not a discussion at all, it is a lecture about how we, the white folk, have trampled on the black folk. Let me point out that I think that time in our history was really wrong-headed; and that I never owned any slaves. Although, I had a black lady that kept me when I was very young; and from all the stories, we loved each other dearly. I called her “Nigger Nanny” and of course that was before “Nigger” became taboo. At that early age, I can only remember some events. The memory of her is the “Aunt Jamima” type. For all of you that think these are racial memories, let me assure you they are not. It is a memory of a warm and loving person who always made wonderful memories for a kid. What could be better than “hot pancakes” loaded with warm maple syrup. But, see how easily a “big boy” can be distracted.

For there to be a true discussion, all parties must be honest and not become offended if the other party is trying to make a point. The latter is what always happens and it leads to someone being called a “racist” and the discussion ends. In my opinion, the black community in America always wants to play the victim. Most all of the white community believes that “slavery” was wrong. They also believe that we have tried to make amends for it and have done a pretty good job to date. At sometime, the black community must pull themselves up by their own “boot straps”. I was born into a very proud but, let’s say, “financially challenged” family. To hell with the “PC” stuff, we were “poor”. Mom made $1.41 an hour, raised two kids, and believe me we did not vacation in the “lap of luxury”. Sure there were obstacles placed in my way, just like for the blacks, but I did not let it deter me and neither should they. Stop the bad behavior that keeps you poor, get an education, and get in the game. “COMMON SENSE” says “it is not a sin to be born poor, just a sin to stay that way”.

I could go forth and try to list all the “ins and outs” about racial equality. But, I could never accomplish it as well as Bill O’Reilly did recently in his “Talking Points Memo”, or for that matter, as well as Pat Buchanan did with his piece while still on CNN in 2008. If you have kept up with the news of late, you know nothing has changed and the President wants to have yet another discussion on race. The piece by Pat is the most honest statement of fact about the racial divide in America that I’ve seen. He is not trying to down-grade anyone but simply stating true facts and for this CNN took him off the air. Says a lot about a network when their pundits preach about a “discussion on race” and one of them presents a factual piece and is crucified. CNN no more wants to present or hear the truth “than the man in the moon”. Pat was stating what needs to be said and CNN should promote this type of truth and maybe their ratings would improve. Put Pat back on the air and remove “Wolf” as he would not know the truth “if it bit him in the ass”. I am taking the liberty and pleasure of posting the following for you to think about and consider. Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America.

Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to.

This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ’60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants.

Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude?

Barack talks about new “ladders of opportunity” for blacks.

Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown, and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for “deserving” white kids.

Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America’s fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.

Wow, what an honest statement of facts. The President wants a discussion, well let’s get at it. These are facts whether you like them are not. This is what we need in this country, the truth. After all, it only makes “COMMON SENSE” to state the facts and let each of us make our own informed decisions.

BOBBY RUSH MAKES A FOOL OF HIMSELF

I just caught a segment on cable where they were interviewing Congressman Rush and he made a complete fool out of himself. Not only did he show he has no business being on TV, he also verified the fact that he should not be in the Congress. He was an embarrassment to the black community that he was elected to represent. I do not know if he is too old and the senility has set in, or if he is just uneducated. I am sorry to be so blunt; but, I know no other way to approach the subject. This man could hardly hold a thought much less deliver the thought in a somewhat straight fashion. The interview was, of course, about the Trayvon Martin tragedy and he was grossly misinformed, or he is just a racist, and was telling complete lies. Let’s hope that he was misinformed; because, I would hate to think that the people of his district are dumb enough to continue to elect a person of this caliber to represent them.

He stated that Mr. Zimmerman quoted things from his mouth that were racial thus proving that he, George Zimmerman, was a racist which he, Bobby Rush, said justified the pursuit of civil rights charges. That probably would be correct and prove Rush right if it were true. But, alas, it is completely false only proving that Bobby Rush is a liar who knows better or he is a bigot. My personal opinion is that he is both a liar and a bigot. The Martin family, their attorneys, and the Attorney General of Florida, that filed the charges, have said it is not and was never about racism, period. He and all the race baiters, such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, are the problem when it comes to race relations in America. They do not want the word “Nigger” or “Nigga” used but there they go acting like one. I grew up playing football with a black kid named “Preacher” and we called each other names all the time. I was “whitey” or “cracker” or “honky” and I sometimes called him “nigga”. All these terms were “terms of endearment” and we had many good laughs. Notice, he had more names for me than I of him. I remember once we got into a fight after a game, and he and I stood back to back to defend ourselves. By the way, I had it worse than he because I happened to have one of the guy’s, that I beat on, father for civics class. I do not remember my grade, but he was hard on me afterwards.

Folks, we need to get over this race stuff. I have no problem with other races as long as they get educated, get a job and take care of their families and do not want my help in the raising of their kids. If they act like a man, I’ll certainly treat them like a man. I am no better than or worse than any other race as long as the person of that race stands on his own two feet and behaves as “GOD” intended him to do. I know some have, or will have, a problem with my bluntness; but, I truly feel it is the only way to over come this nonsense of a racial divide in this country. They have to quit playing the race card to try to win arguments; and when we find racism, we have to help stomp it out. We must learn to live and let live and the “haters be damned”. After all, it only makes “COMMON SENSE” to do so. If we want this country to be as great as it can be, we must be as “brothers in the foxholes of war” and have one another’s backs.

A DAD’S INFLUENCE WITHIN THE FAMILY

I know we all say that the Dad’s role is important to the family. but in today’s world, do we really believe it? The reason I question, what should be a well understood fact, is that today we do all sort of things to diminish not only the father’s role but the role of parents altogether. I always felt it my duty to guide my daughter and to lead by example. Never wanted her to see me cheat in business, all the while preaching to her about honesty. Never wanted to allow her to see me dishonor my Mom/Dad, all the while preaching to her about how one “should honor thou Mother and Father”. I think you get the picture. And, by the way, aren’t both part of the “TEN”? (For you heathens out there, the “TEN” is a reference to the “Ten Commandments”.) What a great place to live this world would be, if only everyone would live by them. I never really knew if I had succeeded, other than my daughter grew into a woman with great character, until recently when she gave me my Father’s Day card. It was a profound moment for me and I’d like to share the text with you. I am sharing this not to bolster my image, but to express in a “COMMON SENSE” fashion just how important Fathers are in their children’s lives. Hope this will drive home that point as solidly with you as it did with me. ENJOY!!!

Father’s Day is a time to say “Thank you” to the most important men in our lives.

And, Dad, you deserve to hear it twice—

Once for being a wonderful, warm-hearted father who coached and counseled and cared for me. And once again for being the patient good-humored, attentive grandpa who adds an extra layer of love to our lives.

Seeing what a wonderful grandpa you are touches my heart in a way I never thought possible.

I’m a lucky daughter to have you for my dad, and my family is lucky to have you for their grandpa…and we all love you so very much.

Happy Father’s Day

Now, that should shine a bright light of truth on why Fathers are so important. You might have noticed that their influence also extends out to a second generation, grand children. I, myself, had not realized that fact until I read the card. I always knew that the only grandfather I knew made a difference; but, I guess it just went over my head. You see, this “COMMON SENSE” thing effects everyone including myself.

All that know me personally know of the absence of my father. As it turned out, my granddad passed away early in my life. Everything I did was new and experimental; but, with the help of a strong willed “Mom” and a few friends, I grew into what I am today. I can tell you from experience that it can be done, but is much easier if you have a role model to follow. It would certainly be better if fathers were not absent for any reason and we just might get a better class of men. They could perhaps instill that pride and respect for the family name that I received from my Mom. She taught me that the “Wood” family name meant something and that I should never dishonor it with bad behavior.

I can remember teaching my daughter some of life’s lessons such as honesty, integrity and loyalty which I have covered in recent blogs; but, you never really know if you are getting it instilled to the core. Now, for those of you have not kept up with each post, you have some homework. Just keep going back and read them all. I guess from this card’s message I still have a purpose and have not become as useless as I thought. I can now strive to help impart the same morals/ethics into my grandkids as I did with my daughter. So, in the future, when you hear some liberal saying that Fathers are not important in kids lives, you can refer back to this blog and know that not to be true. After all, it only makes “COMMON SENSE” that Fathers have a real role to play in a child’s upbringing. You know, this “COMMON SENSE” stuff really works!!!

DEMOCRATS SUPPORT WEINER AS MAYOR OF PERVERTVILLE,N.Y.

Well, the Democrats are at it again with their support of another pervert running for public office. That’s right, the head pervert of today, in the democratic party, Anthony Weiner, is running for mayor of New York City. The no-classacrats are actually supporting this pervert; and he may, or most probably, will be elected. It is a shame that the democrats could not find a better candidate. Not only is he a pervert, who should be registered as a sex offender, he is a liar. He lied for weeks on national T.V. Remember, I have told you before that a “liar will steal from you and a thief will lie to you”; well, I guess we now have to add that they will also send you “dirty pictures”. How has this country sunk so low as to even letting this pervert think about running for office? I guess after all the other “sex offenders” the democrats have elected and supported like “Bill-the-blue-dress- Clinton”, “Barney-the-queer-Frank”, and “Marion-the-crack-whore-Barry” it should not be a surprise. Think back and you will realize that all these offenders had their party’s support even after the offences were exposed. The party just has no morals or ethics.

How can you support a person like “Bill-the-blue-dress-Clinton” after such horrible acts in the “Oval Office”? And, just like “Anthony-a-picture-is-worth-a-thousand-words-Weiner” he stood in front of the media and lied to the American public time and time again. How “on God’s green earth” did this man ever face his daughter? He could not keep the most important contract with his wife. So, why did anyone ever expect him to keep his word in office? He is a disgrace to humanity; but, he is a democratic super star. What a shame!!!

If these two aren’t perverts enough, let’s move to “Barney-the-queer-Frank”; and this one really is a piece of work. This person, because he is not a man, is an openly and admittedly “queer” person who has had the support of the democrats for years. If, it was that he was just “queer” that would be one thing. But, he and his “boyfriend”, or at least his “boyfriend”, were running “queer prostitutes” out of the basement in the house they shared. Of course, when this was brought forth, not only did Barney not know of it, the democrats circled the wagons in support of this pervert, also. Again, what a shame!!!

Now, just to show you that this is no “Johnny-come-lately” attitude for the democrats we shall revisit the offences of “Marion-the -crack-whore-Barry”. He was caught on video during a “sting” smoking crack cocaine with crack whores in a motel room. It was on video and the democrats still supported him and he got reelected. Can you imagine that? The people of D.C. voted a “crackhead” into office!!! That is when I realized that D.C., itself, was perverted. Let me say, they deserve what they got then and are deserving of what they get today.

Let me say that I am not judging these people for that is not my place; but, believe me when I tell you their ” judgment is coming”. The democrats will also face that same judgment someday. I see and hear, everyday, democrats declare they are “Christians”, which I feel is impossible. The two just can not be compatible. Do you remember during the last election when the democrats tried to remove “God” from their platform? Does that sound like a “Christian” to you? They support the “queers” and their right to marry in direct contrast to what is written in Romans. By the way, that is just one reference, there are others and don’t take my word, go research it yourself. They do today and have always supported the “killing of babies”, “innocent life”. Does that sound “Christian” like to you? It sure does not sound that way to me. Again, don’t take my word, do your own research, read the “BIBLE”. The “BIBLE” is full of good old “COMMON SENSE” so check it out and use that “COMMON SENSE” in you daily routine.

PLAYING WITH A FULL DECK

Hey, all that know me, know of my Faith, and my belief in “My God”, and my patriotism. So, when I found this, or rather it was sent to me through e-mail, it certainly struck a nerve. And yes, I will admit that I am intrigued by anyone who has the touch to perform magic, any magic. Or shall we say, the skillful art of any person to really perform, has always amazed me. But, card tricks have long been a favorite. The art of the ventriloquist has also been a favorite; but this young man is talented and has a message to share. All of you who follow me, know how I love to share a message; but in this case, I would love to share “the Message” with you. Although, I will never be as talented as this young man. I would like to join him in being a conduit for the sharing of “the Message”. It is a “COMMON SENSE” message so it makes “COMMON SENSE” for me to share on this blog. I could go into details about “the message”; but, I think this short video says it about or better than I could thru all my words. Hopefully, you will enjoy and get “the message” about the “LORD” thru the presentation.

I mentioned my patriotism and it comes from, I guess, my service to my country. Some have done more for their country than myself, but none have loved “HER” more. There is just something that happens when you serve “HER” and you never look at “HER” the same after you have served. It is a brotherhood that crosses all races, party lines and economic status and is for life. I’ve always believed that it is the “oath” all branches take that instills that love for “HER” in our hearts. And let me tell you, that oath is not only for the duration of service, but every man I have ever talked to believes the oath they took is for life. Each of us gets a tear in our eyes at the sight of “old glory” in a parade or at the singing of “The Star Spangled Banner” or “America the Beautiful”. Can’t explain it and should not have to. It just stirs the emotions deep inside about how lucky we as Americans are to live in this great nation. Now, please stay hooked up until the end and have your sound turned on as the ending will hopefully make you feel like I do about America. MY FATHER AND MY BLOG

Only a few of you who know me personally know that I was raised by my “MOM”, a strong Christian woman. My dad was absent; but, she did a great job of trying to keep me on the straight and narrow. I really do not know who to credit or blame for my writing of this blog, but my “Father” had a lot to do with what little ability I have for the writing of this blog. I would like to give credit where credit is due– so I’ll take a stab at it.

My “Father” was and still is instrumental in my having a back bone and being able to stand up to adversity. He always taught me to think for myself and to believe in “Truth and Justice”. I guess that is where some of my attitude comes from about this blog. He taught me that “the truth will set you free” and now I write about “the truth” on a regular basis. He taught me that “hard work would pay dividends” and it has proven to be true. He taught me rules to follow through out life that would always lead me in the right direction. The knowledge he passed to me has helped in my relationship with my wife of 38 years. He has taken the time in the past to show me how to befriend people and to respect their friendship. He also taught me that if I or my family faced danger, that I was to “strike out with a mighty right hand and sword”; all the while, knowing when to turn the other cheek for lesser offenses. He taught me not to chase the dollar but to put forth effort and to recognize and accept opportunity and to benefit from it when “it comes knocking at your door”. He taught me to believe in myself and to have the confidence and conviction in my beliefs to withstand the “naysayers”. He taught me the “joy of giving” and the benefits that are derived from the helping of others. I could go on about many more things he has taught me; but, I think you get the picture. Now that you know of some of “His” teachings of me, I would like to tell you a little about “Him”. Hopefully, you will find the following to be enlightening.

He was born into a small family many years ago. The family was not rich by any standards. He grew up to be a carpenter by trade. He was not a highly educated man by today’s standards but possessed a wealth of knowledge. He was an articulate man and was not bashful about speaking to groups of people. He had an “air” about him and could get people to not only listen but to follow his words. He spent a lot of time in fishing villages, so maybe that is where I got my love of fishing. He was a simple man with little in worldly possessions but rich in character and was really into morals and ethics. He lived his life and went out as he came into this world–with honor. Although I write a lot, he was more of a speaker of truth than a writer of truth. Although he wrote and can be credited with some very profound statements, he was an orator not a writer. He was written of in many “books” and was quoted in many “books” but was not given credit to writing books himself. It has always amazed me that a man with so much to say did not write more than he did during his time here on earth. Although I never got to hear not even one of his speeches, I have read accounts of all of them in the “books” of which I spoke earlier. He was an appreciative man and gave credit for his success to his “Father” just as I give credit to my “Father” for my success. He had a small group of close friends with which he “broke bread” and sipped wine.

Like I said before, he was not a writer, but he was written about in many books. He appeared as the main character in one book. If you haven’t figured out the plot to this story, let me explain it for you. The book in which he was the main character is the “BIBLE” and “HE” is “OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN”. If you have not read it, please accept this invitation to do so. You see I did not get an invitation, but was shamed into reading it when I discovered that my daughter and her friend had read it from cover to cover when they were eighteen years old. I got busy and am glad I did. The “book” is full of “COMMON SENSE”. So, it only makes “COMMON SENSE” that it should be read by all. And by the way, when I mentioned He taught me rules to live by; those rules for life are “THE TEN COMMANDMENTS” and they really are “COMMON SENSE” rules for life.

WHERE THERE’S SMOKE, THERE’S FIRE.

Hey, hopefully all of you who know me see me as a “COMMON SENSE” guy. I try really hard at this “common sense” stuff; thusly, the title for this blog, “WHERE THERE’S SMOKE, THERE’S FIRE”. Meaning that if you see smoke, there is fire somewhere even if you do not see it. I feel this old saying applies very well to the Attorney General’s situation. If you have not been paying attention, he has a mess on his hands. This mess is of his own making and one lie is bad enough. But, this man is only surpassed in the lying category by none other than his boss. I will, in the following, point out not just one but a whole fist full of lies he has put forth to conceal his actions and to try to fool the American public. It is past due time for him to be held accountable for his actions and his false accounts of those actions.

I have no “ax to grind” here but his latest lie is just one of many he has been caught up in; and when it becomes a pattern, then it is time for his boss to take action. The latest of his misstatements, hell, let’s call it what it really is–a lie, is that he had no knowledge of the process to obtain a warrant to investigate James Rosen, a Fox News reporter, and his family. As it turns out, he lied to Congress, a crime in itself, when he stated, “he had no knowledge of any investigation about any news organization and that he thought it a bad idea”. Turns out that he, Mr. Attorney General, Eric Holder, himself, signed the warrant or the application for the warrant sometime before his claim to Congress that he had no knowledge of the investigation. If I signed the application for the warrant, then I would have knowledge of it and anything to the contrary would be a lie. And if it was a lie, then I am a liar, plain and simple. I think the old adage applies here that “a thief will lie to you and a liar will steal from you”. Truth be known a liar is a thief because he has stolen the truth from you. Now if that is not good old “COMMON SENSE”, then I’ll “eat my hat”, and if you do not recognize it for “COMMON SENSE”, then I am really wasting my time here.

The Attorney General has lied and been complicit in the Benghazi scandal by going along with the lie of the video as the cause of the attack. That has been proven to be a lie; but the administration, including the attorney general rode that horse into the ground. Why hell, he even stood by along with the rest of the administration, while the maker of the video was arrested and imprisoned. Imprisoned for making a video!!! By the way that man is still being held even though the lie the administration told has been debunked. How would you feel if you were in that person’s shoes?

If you are interested in the truth, then investigate for yourself the following actions of this attorney general. Just simply get on the internet and check out all the things this attorney general has been a part of and I think it will open your eyes. Things like the black panther voter intimidation where he refused to prosecute and lied, the “Fast and Furious” gun running debacle where he lied and a U.S. Border Agent was killed, the IRS scandal, where the attorney general’s office approved of the FBI investigating conservative groups and he lied, the AP scandal where they obtained the records of reporters phone records and he lied, and not to mention he is touted as the architect of the Marc Rich pardon during Clinton administration as assistant attorney general. This man is credited with being the grandest “tax cheat” of all times. They say he was even greater than “tax-cheat Geithner” who severed as your U.S. Secretary of Treasury. Now, isn’t this a fine “den of thieves” serving, or having served, at the pleasure of the President? Doesn’t bode well for the President, now does it? What is that old “COMMON SENSE” thing about “birds of a feather flock together”.

I did not elaborate on all the issues facing this attorney general to save space. But, let’s just say that “where there is this much smoke, there is a fire”. Remember, these are just the lies we are privy to and you can “bet the bank” there are more. It just makes “COMMON SENSE” that “if you will lie to me once, you will lie to me again”. I truly believe that this Attorney General and our President, as well, would “climb a tree to tell a lie rather than stand on the ground in the shade to tell the truth”. A sad state of affairs to say the least.

OBAMA AND HILLARY IN AN AFFAIR, A LYING AFFAIR

It is obvious to everyone that President Obama and Hillary Clinton are in a lying affair with the American public over Benghazi. If you can’t see this, then you have no “COMMON SENSE” and I am wasting my time and breath trying to explain the facts. But, here I go anyway.

Did you happen to catch the testimony of Mr. Hicks during the congressional hearings where he was asked what his reaction to the video statement by the administration was and he said, “he was astonished, his jaw dropped and he was embarrassed?” If you have any “COMMON SENSE,” then you realize that his statement is a nice way of saying the administration was lying. You can labor the point as long as you like; but, the conclusion remains the same. They were and still are lying about this whole debacle. They were afraid that it would have a negative effect on the election; so, they simply lied to better fit the narrative that the administration had the terrorist on the run. This was not only dishonorable, but dangerous. If you do not recognize the problem, then how the hell can you ever fix it. Both President Obama and then Secretary of State Clinton, while representing the American public, went in front of the world when the bodies returned and lied on your behalf. Did you hear me? I said “on your behalf”. I try to never tell a lie. So, I really do not want someone else, that should know better, to lie for me. Neither of these people should have ever been in any position of authority as they both are void of any morals/ethics to hold such a position. I guess it is right in line as the public did elect Hillary’s lying, cheating, and philandering husband twice. OH WELL, we survived Carter and Clinton so maybe we can survive Obama and Clinton.

Do you realize that a “STAND DOWN” order was issued as to the teams ready to try to save our people? This means that we no longer stand behind our old “SOP” of not leaving our own behind. Not everyone has served this country. So, I do not expect everyone to understand the moral/ethics of bring home your own. It is with real sadness in my heart that I now realize we have lost so much of our backbone as a nation. I took the same, or very similar, oath when I served, as I believe President Obama and Hillary Clinton took. But, it does not seem to mean the same to them as it did to me. Just to let you know when I was “honorably discharged” the oath remained in effect and will remain in effect until I die.

Remember during the primary between Obama and Hillary, that Hillary ran an ad about who would you want to take the call at 3:oo am in the morning. Well, Hillary you made that call to Mr. Hicks and you never asked him, not once, what was happening because you did not want him to tell you the truth. The administration had already decided to lie to the American public and the truth would have gotten in the way. To be blunt, Hillary, you “failed the test”. Everyone should remember this failure if you ever try to run for public office again.

We, as the American public, have been lied to by these two not only about Benghazi, but about a host of other subjects. But, we have gotten what we deserve. We, as a people, need to become more informed and to become more involved if we truly want great people serving us as “public servants” after all it only makes “COMMON SENSE” to do so.

TERRORISTS IN AMERICA–OR SNAKES IN THE GRASS–YOU DECIDE

We have a problem in America. Some would say it is the terrorist, some would say it is the Muslims, some would say it is the home-grown terrorists, but I say it is the way we handle terrorists that is our problem. The way we look at the terrorist has been a problem for us all the way back to 9/11. We have decided to treat them as criminals instead of like terrorists. They are at best, “snakes in the grass”; but, we want to make them our friends. We want to show them respect and maybe then they will like us. We want to send them billions of dollars and then maybe they will like us. All this is wrong. All we must do is to use “COMMON SENSE” to deal with them and we will be much better off in the end. Remember folks, “it is hard to negotiate with someone who wants to cut off your head”. Listen, Mr. Terrorists, I’ll cut off my right hand. ” No, I want your head”. Well then, I’ll cut off my right arm. “No, I want your head”. Hope you can see where this is going. If not, you have no “COMMON SENSE” and you can not be reasoned with, just like the terrorists.

Please find the following from the internet and read this “COMMON SENSE” approach to how we should be solving the problem. Most of you do not live in the country like myself; but, this how we take care of problems for ourselves. It has worked for many years and will continue to work if you just “take the bull by the horns,” solve the problem, and march forward. After all, it only makes “COMMON SENSE” to do so.

Now the news media will spend days trying to determine why these men did what they did in Boston. They will want to know what America did to make these brothers so angry with us. They will want to know why these men were not arrested before they did something unlawful. The media will be in a tissy about the new era of home-grown radicals and about how they could live among us and still hate us.

Here in west Texas, I have rattlesnakes on my place. I have killed a rattlesnake on the front porch. I have killed a rattlesnake on the back porch. I have killed rattlesnakes in the barn, in the shop and on the driveway. I kill every rattlesnake I encounter. I kill rattlesnakes because a rattlesnake will bite me and inflict me with poison. I don’t stop to wonder why a rattlesnake will bite me. It will bite me because it is a rattlesnake and that is what rattlesnakes do. I don’t try to reason with a rattlesnake…I just kill it. I don’t try to get to know the rattlesnake better so that I can find a way to live with the rattlesnakes and convince them not to bite me…I just kill them. I don’t quiz a rattlesnake to see if I can find out where the other snakes are because (a) it won’t tell me (b) I already know that they live on my place…I just kill the rattlesnake and move on to the next one. I don’t look for ways that I might be able to change the rattlesnake to a non-poisonous rat snake. I just kill it. Oh, and on occasion I kill a rat snake, because I thought it was a rattlesnake at the time. Also, I know that for every rattlesnake that I kill, two more lurk out there. In my lifetime I will never be able to rid my place of rattlesnakes. Do I fear them? No! Do I respect what they can do to me? Yes! And because of that respect I give them their fair justice….I kill them.

Maybe as a country we should give more credit to the jihadist as just being a rattlesnake!

I know a lot of people will think I am much to harsh. But, it is time for a lot more harshness instead of the mushiness we have been trying to feed to them. And to what great advance has it led us? Just more problems and more attacks. I am just an “old country boy” with “COMMON SENSE” that when he finds a “snake in the grass” we cut of its head or better yet “blast it with a shotgun”. “KILL IT AND KILL IT DEAD” and move on. After all, it only makes “COMMON SENSE” to do so.
