My Daddy's Common Sense

Is common sense no more?

YOU CAN’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

Hey, as most of you who know me well are aware, I am very patriotic.  Hell, I cry at the “National Anthem” or when “OLD GLORY” goes by during a parade.  Call me a softy if you want; but, just not while I am “honoring my country and flag” or you might just get your “ass kicked”.  Anyone that has served this country probably feels the same.  It is a special brotherhood; and I’m really proud to be “one of the brothers”.  The brothers of the hood have nothing on us.  The gangs seem to think they have loyalty; just wait til they run into this gang or “brothers of the hood” of the military.  All forces are a part of this gang and proud to call America their home.

Please do yourself and me a favor and check this out.  How soon we forget or maybe just never knew.  He received this honor in 2003: and even though that is in the past, it never hurts to learn something new. This proves the old saying “you can’t judge a book by its cover”.

Army Ranger Surprise
You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw who they were talking about … I had no idea …wait till you see who it is.   What a simple but most sincere and moving acceptance speech.  Loved his recommendation for all our politicos. Many people may have forgotten about his time in the U.S. Army. He is the son of an Air Force General, and an accomplished Golden Gloves boxer, and he graduated from Pomona College with a B.S. degree, and then became a Rhodes Scholar from Oxford University. He joined the U.S. Army at the prompting of his father. After graduating from Officer Candidate School he attended and graduated from both Army Airborne and Ranger training in the very top of each class. He was selected for U. S. Army Special Forces Training but refused so that he could attend pilot training where he earned his wings, and became an accomplished U.S. Army helicopter (gun ship) pilot, and achieved the rank of Captain. He was about to be promoted to the rank of  Major, and appointed to teach at West Point when he resigned he was commission from the Army to go into music and acting. You can tell in this video that his time in the military means a lot to him. I won’t give away who it is. You should just watch.
I bet you will be surprised!
GO HERE

Be honest, you were surprised.

I would like to thank all the members of the “brotherhood” for their service, past and present.  And, I’d like to thank Kris for his service and for his great music over the years. He is part of the” outlaw bunch” that have their own ideas about how this country should be run.  He is a fellow “TEXAN” and we are proud to have him and his accomplishments as a part of the “GREAT STATE OF TEXAS”.  “Texas born and Texas Proud”, We are Texas”.  It just makes “COMMON SENSE” to be proud of and honor a fellow Texan.
